Well, we can't let the Hungarians grab all the limelight can we? This is another unit of figures from Don's collection beautifully restored for me by Goya. Once again my only contribution was to add the command figures (and flag) then apply gloss varnish and base them in my house style.

1 x AN.10 Officer, charging (converted to standard bearer)

Really nice unit - smart lads. I can't remember how these guys were organised - are these battalions combined grenadier companies from different regiments in a brigade (I know the Spanish did that, and the Spanish usually copied the Austrians)? I have some boxes of under-employed Bavarians, who are muttering as I write.
Just scrumptious, with all these new units the Austrian army has to organise a parade soon just to introduce everyone. I reckon the next Danube campaign is going to be even tougher for the Frenchies. ;o)
The battalions were combined but usually from three regiments. I’ve taken the liberty of combining from four regiments as I have nominal companies of 6 figures and that works neatly for 24-figure units.

Goya is famously teatotal but can be bribed with castings!
Austrian Grenadiers are one of the iconic images of this period. A cracking addition. Hopefully they will prove as stalwart as smart.

I've waited long for this.....I hope Mr Spruster is not implying that these splendid fellows are freeloaders....The thing is, UK plc could borrow the bearskins for the next Royal event.
