This is a quick update to prove that work on my French Light Infantry unit continues. I have completed all the rank and file and started on the four remaining command figures.
The unit will represent the 1st Light Infantry who as part of 6th Division, II Corps, took part in the attacks on Hougoumont at Waterloo. It was Sous-Lieutenant Legros of this regiment who, seizing an axe from one of the pioneers, smashed his way through the north gate into the courtyard. Not that it ended well for him.

Intrigued by the different numbers of the different coloured pom-poms, will the command figures make it up to six each of green, blue, orange and purple?
Rob, my standard system is to have figures with 6 orange and violet pom-poms, 5 blue + 1 officer, 3 green plus command group of 3.
Another nice little addition. Will they be elite status?
Matt, they should probably be 'A' grade at least for Waterloo!
FN5s have an elegant simplicity which you've brought out beautifully with this natty, all-blue colour scheme. And what a lovely shade of blue, too.
I do hope you're going to include Legros brandishing an axe.

WM - thanks Matthew, it's the same shade of Foundry blue I always use but three coats of varnish give it a nice depth.

Goodness what lovely clean castings these are. Have to agree with WM, that the FN5 is just a fantastic sculpt and your colour palette really sets off their elegant simplicity. Really nicely done!
