Well yes. I know I said this year was the year of the Prussians but I just need to wrap up the Austrian forces with one more infantry unit. Years ago Roy said he thought the ideal army size was 8 infantry, 4 cavalry and 4 artillery but having zoomed past that mark I am settling on an army-and-a-half for the Habsburgs. The figures are more refurbished AN.4 Musketeer, charging originally in the collection of US gamer Don W.

I'm not expecting production this year to reach the dizzying heights of last year as most of what I'll be painting will be done from scratch. I also have a few old wargaming projects that I want to finish off including my 15mm Fire & Fury stuff that may impact on Hinton painting. One other ambition is to spend more time actually playing games - we'll see how it goes.

Less painting - more gaming ! Life's too short . . . . . .
Indeed…
Why not Pink? Does the question even need posing? Pink is one of my favourite facing colours - unfortunately I'm committed to the Peninsular War where there's a shocking lack of pink. I keep pressing WM to do some Prussian dragoons in pink facings, for me an absolutely iconic image from the period.
When you say, an army-and-a-half, does that mean you now have 12 infantry units? From your last massed infantry parade, I thought you had 10, so this would make 11. Nonetheless it makes a great 4 'division' army, two with 3 line units, 1 advanced guard with a line unit and Grenzers, and a grenadier reserve with two units - all with an attached jager coy.
Rob, I also have the Vienna Volunteers so this unit will make it up to 12 infantry!
Very nice and the Austrian army when completed should look great on the table.
IR#11 Wallis? I always had these because I had the bright idea of making a Gromit figure for the Command stand. Never did, though. You can never have too many Austrians.
Another splendid painting job Ian. I always admire the detail you manage on the hands as Hintons don't always have well defined fingers. I like the pink facings as well!
Thanks Donnie, I hope they will.
Thanks Jeffers, I think there were three regiments with pink facings but I like your idea!
Thanks Busker, I always paint the face and hands first as it brings the figure to life.
