More Austrian Kurassiers

The Austrian forces now have their final (honest) cavalry unit. These represent the 12th Ferdinand Kurassiers and bring the cavalry contingent to a very respectable 6 units.

You can never have too many cuirassiers.

All the figures except the trumpeter are original Hinton Hunt castings from Don W's collection that have been refurbished for me by the brush of the talented Goya. The trumpeter is my own work.

Red and white is always a nice combination.
The whole of the Austrian cavalry - 72 sabres!

I'm thinking that the French cavalry may just be starting to worry...

That is one very spectacular line up, Ian. That would be two whole cavalry corps by my reckoning. They are magnificent!

Thanks Matthew they do look quite impressive en masse!

They are very nice, white always stand out on the table-top.
BUT, come now, the French have probably as much Guard cavalry as that, plus the line on top, no?
Perhaps one more unit? A chevauleger unit in green?

Hmm, yes green - I did wonder about that…

That is an awesome sight and have to agree with Rob, it needs a splash of green into the ranks!

Matt, I did think that if I ever did another unit (and that’s a big if) it would be dragoons in green!

Thanks Donnie.

A splendid looking force. Will they fight? Austria deserves credit for putting armies in the field and you do for putting the Austrians on the table. Thanks for sharing.

To pinch a line from veteran gamer Charles Grant " a sight to stir every wargamer" ...wonderful stuff. Hope they perform well!
