Here are the 1st Austrian Uhlans painted as per the Hinton Hunt instruction sheet or as near as I could get them. The figures are all original Hinton Hunt castings most of which had never been painted before so have waited 50+ years to get on a wargame table. The officer is actually a French Guard Lancer figure donated by Goya.
The figures I used are:
11 x AN.85 Austrian Uhlan (Lancer, mounted) charging
1 x FN40 French Officer (mounted) charging
This addition brings the Austrian cavalry force up to a respectable 5 units and yes I know I really must hold a review. Next in the pipeline is something French for a change.

Some good looking figures over the last two posts.
Thanks Rob!
They have a classic, dashing look about them! Well done!
Lovely! Just can't wait to see these all charging en-masse across the table.
Very beautifil collors, in deed! I like their shiny look!

Absolutely stunning!
Kind Regards,

A very dashing looking unit, really well done, the yellow is very striking.
Their long wait has at last been rewarded with uniforms. They look splendid. I hope they perform splendidly for you.
Stephen
Thank you Bob!
Rob, after all that painting I’d rather they stayed safely in reserve in their first battle!
Thanks!
Thanks Stokes!
Donnie, as I use black undercoat it takes four coats of yellow to cover but it’s nice and bright when varnished.
There’s nothing quite like lancers for a bit of dash Stephen!
Well, this is what all that other painting stuff has been leading up to. Possibly my fave HH figure. They are exactly as Marcus intended, only better painted. So you want them to stay in reserve...are they going to appear on stage at Dresden?
You want to keep them in reserve, in a bandbox? Who are you? Lord Raglan? My mate Nolan says charge the guns!
Nigel, they will be at Dresden of course but probably behind the garden wall!
Ah Rob, Raglan is one of my military heroes!
The boys look great Ian - very nicely done. I am impressed that you had virgin castings to work with. A rarity. Did you give them a couple of hours in the bleach anyway?
Great looking Uhlans. Will look good with the hussars.
Paul
Dazzling, in every sense! Bravo Ian.
Thanks Tony, no they were spared all but the file…
Yes Paul, but only as a second line!
Well thank you WM!
Those may just be your finest work yet. What a pleasure to have unpainted original castings to work with. Very nice sir!
You have been busy! Lovely colourful additions to the ranks.
Thanks David and yes it makes a change to have castings in their original state.
Thanks Matt, it has been a tad busy in the Hut!
