So what’s happening with Vintage Leipzig? Well, from my side very little other than just about having finished the Prussian Cuirassiers, it has been a rather unproductive year so far. Roy on the other hand has worked wonders as always and now has a very substantial Austrian army. Hopefully we will be able to set a date quite soon.

On the plus side, I’ve just started working on a second squadron of Naumarkisches Dragoons. You may remember I painted six of these back in 2014 but this was before the cavalry reorganisation that saw us settling on 12 figure units. To make this unit up to strength I have another six figures on the go including this trumpeter conversion. All done with brass rod, superglue and Magic Sculp, no clever stuff with a soldering iron unfortunately.

Ian, I promised Messrs G and K a glossier future if they went west. But "fighting"? nobody mentioned fighting.........
Archduke - I'm sure they'll do fine when the time comes as long as nobody rolls a one!
Didn't the Austrians have rocket troops too?mOr was that slightly later. They had air rifles earlier in the Napoleonic wars . I am sure that could be a deadly weapon. The archduke could sneak up on you and phut you would be gone.
I have a few units of whitecoats to finish for Leipzig and a couple of units with my painter. I find the last few bits of painting of units and flagging up take an unconscionable amount of time!

The Danes had them too and used them in 1814, albeit when besieged at Danzig. Think I might knock up a Danish crew so Napoleon can light the blue touch paper.

I'd like to reassure Roy that, whilst my chaps have experimented with air rifles, they are forbidden to sneak up and phut. We're more flag-waving sorts.
We're rapidly approaching the date of the battle (October), perhaps the prospect of a refight near the actual date will provide a good incentive. Nothing like a 203rd anniversary to stir the blood ;-)
...although a 204th would come close..........
