It seems like quite a long time ago I started work on these but in fact its only been two months which is a super quick turnaround for any unit on my painting desk. They are of course the 1st Cuirassiers and all that remains is to complete their basing and they will be ready for action.
This is just as well because Roy and I are finally getting together for Vintage Waterloo next Saturday where my Cuirassiers will be joining over 2,000 other Hinton Hunt’s for the realisation of a boyhood dream – refighting the famous battle in miniature.
I’ll try to remember to take photos!

Looking forward to seeing the report of the battle , Tony
Yes, I hope I'll be able to do it justice!
They look splendid - best of luck with it!
Good to see that it is June already - have been looking forward to this - in fact I have been able to think of little else since the game was first mentioned. Looking forward to seeing the pics - have a great day!
Thanks Conrad.
Tony - it certainly does feel chilly for June, I hope the game will live up to your expectations then maybe you will be able to get some sleep again!
Splendid work, Ian.
Now remember to take lots of photos of obscure HH types that none of us have ever seen before!
Superb!
Have a great day and I hope thes fine looking fellows put in a suitably good show.
2,000 Hinton Hunt Figures - now Ian - that IS something special!
Marvellous when a plan comes together. Joining the others in expectation. Vive l'Empereur!
Thanks for the comments mon braves...
I am really looking forward to seeing a 'proper' wargame using 'proper' wargames figures. (I use the word 'proper' because 20mm is the scale I started out with and Hinton Hunt were the first metal figures that I ever owned!)
Good luck,
Bob
Bob - so am I! The scale of this game has grown way beyond anything I imagined at the start of the year due to Roy's Herculean efforts to muster his forces. My own contribution will be about 450 figures and it has taken me 7 years to get there!
Excellent job on the cuirassiers, look forward to seeing pictures of the battle.
Paul
Now there's eye candy. A fine French cuirassier regiment with their backs to a pair of Austrian guns if I'm not mistaken. Now where are the gunners? Ah, maybe that's the point....
Yes, Austrian guns and a limber too but don't worry the gunners are safe!
They are lovely Ian,
Have a great days gaming, will look forward to the pics!
A battalion of Prussian Line and a battn. of splendid Hanoverians just arrived this morning. I have dug out one of the War-games Hol centre Prussian Landwehr units and based that up with the postal arrivals. So that's three more units of allies, oh and two extra units of British cavalry to put into the meat grinder That's all predicated on Ian being Napoleon of course.
Never underestimate the forces of Reaction errr Freedom!
Roy - if I wait much longer the French will be outnumbered 2 to 1 !!!
