These extra six figures will bring the unit up to full 24 figure strength and hopefully help to ensure their participation in future games. I had a slight problem trying to match the green of their uniforms to the green that Matt had used but I’m happy enough with the result now. I just need to rebase the whole lot to my light infantry standard system and then my rebasing project will be complete.
You will no doubt have noticed the batch of Prussian gunners lurking behind them. These have been cleaned up ready to receive black undercoat and there are enough of them to make up another three artillery batteries. We can blame Goya for this.

WM - Goya pointed out to me last weekend that it was recreating my old Prussian army that had been the inspiration for this blog. The guns though are for a possible C&CN game but it gives me an opportunity to start to grow my Prussian forces.
Those rifles are a nice pose.
I hope to do some Prussian Artillery soon. For your artillery pieces which manufacturer are you using ?
Thanks Mark. All the guns for my Prussians are by Newline Designs but I do have two HH limbers.
I will have to get some Newline Prussian and Austrian artillery.
Out of interest, whilst I know Newline Infantry are small in stature compared to Hintons, I was wondering if their cavalry were a better match as I am thinking of using some of their cavalry command figures.
Mark - the Newline cavalry are still small compared to HH I'm afraid. You'll have to start converting!

The Newline cavalry are definitely smaller but the difference is not as much as the infantry particularly at a distance when you use thicker bases.
SHQ command figures are a better match than Newline so might be worth looking at.
Newline artillery pieces are a good match as the Hinton Hunt ones were a little underscale anyway.
Peter Gilder used Hinchliffe 20mm guns with Hinton Hunt crews. The Hinchliffe 20mm pieces were easily the best available then and better than anything since.
Did HH ever do Spanish troops - I'm wondering if vintage peninsula is ever an option?
Yes they did, and Portuguese too. John Cunningham has some on his list if you fancy building an army!
