Sensational stuff - that really is a collectors' piece - thanks for sharing it. The film is intriguing at more levels than I'm prepared to admit to - let's just say that the image of Mrs Hinton in military garb will be with me for a while.

Brilliant video!

(Am I the only one remembering the old range of Sanderson or maybe Phoenix 54mm girls wearing bits of military paraphenalia?)

Strange to say my immediate thought was whether Cynthia appeared upstairs in her uniform. The cut of a tail-coat would make it rather fetching.
Later in life she had an ample figure and was given to wearing tight velvet trousers.
Love the way Marcus just brushes her aside when she attempts to move troops. Not a 'New man' I think!

Loved it!.... and glad I wasn't the only one who had 'those' thoughts about Mrs Hinton in uniform! I wonder what age Marcus was when that was filmed? I have go say that as a natty 'pointy beard' man myself those whiskers are most impressive too :-)

Hi,

It seems like you've all seen this video. When I click through the link it doesn't play, and there's an ominous 'Add to Basket (£30)' link, suggesting that to see it you have to pay £30.

I can see the stills, albeit the enlarged images have text splashed across them (to prevent copyright infringement, I guess). Is it a problem with my browser (Mac running Safari), or is it simply that you have to pay to watch it? £30 for a few minutes seems a bit steep!

I've also found it on YouTube, once again posted by Pathé, and once again I'm unable to actually view it. but then I'm unable to see any YouTube clips at present, hence wondering if it's a browser problem.

Regards

Sebastian

Hi Seb - I've just tested the link and it works fine with my browser with no need to pay anything! The clip runs for about 3 minutes and is well worth watching...
