Just when you thought it was safe to park freestyle… the Traffic Wardens are back! These are David Clayton castings of PN.18 Landwehr Private (charging). They are the advance guard of the 2nd Silesian Landwehr.
The 1st Silesian Landwehr have gained something of a reputation for themselves as tenacious fighters bucking the trend of ‘C’ class Militia and seeing off some formidable foes over the last few years. I’m hoping the new battalion will perform equally well.
The reason for this departure from my schedule of painting Imperial Guard is that Goya is planning to host a Plancenoit Command & Colors game soon and we are lacking in Landwehr units. C&CN should be a gentle introduction to table-top warfare for them – just the ticket (forgive the pun).

Very nice but the trousers are very white/bright - have you tried grey? It can look very smart like WM’s reserve infantry.
Grey? Goodness me no! Nothing but pure bright white for my boys!
They look great....but it is a bit scary seeing the ringwraith-like specters of the Empress Dragoon’s lurking in the background. They are charging the Silesians from behind, like Frodo and company at the ford. Where is the Gandalfian Blücher when you need him?
Traffic wardens, ouch! :) You have made them look like fine fellows. No wonder their counterparts have been rewarding you on the tabletop!
Hurrah! They're look splendid, and I quite agree that white trousers are the thing.
Not tempted by Kurmarks, Neumarks, Elbians (?), Westphalians or Pomeranians, or is that all part of the secret plans?
Bestest regards,
WM
Ian- fine brush work there on the Prussians - hope they'l perform to your delight in the next Battle. Well done! Cheers. KEV.
Traffic Wardens armed with muskets is one way of stopping illegal parking.
I like contrast between blue, white and yellow.
CN - actually my Blucher would look a bit look Gandalf if he had a pointy hat!
James - when you have a unit as renowned as these it's a good idea to clone them!
WM - I'll stick with Silesians after all why tempt fate!
Hurrah, look forward to seeing Plancenoit come to fruition.
Paul
