Austrian infantry done!

I finally got around to completing my 'last' Austrian unit that will represent the 36th Kinsky Regiment (because they have pink facings and I like the name). As I mentioned before, these are figures I've refurbished that were donated by US gamer Don W.

The infantry figure is AN/4 Musketeer, charging. Most of my work on these has been the lining of the straps, the very nice flag is original painting by Don.
I find refurbishing almost as time consuming as painting from scratch but I wanted to preserve as much of Don's original brushwork as possible.

This gives me a total of 12 infantry units for my Austrian forces which is way more than I ever expected to have. Next will be more French...

They are great and 12 regiments is a pretty good force. You say French next, but what about the Russians? They don’t seem to get much of a look in …

Yes, but Austrian line regiments should be BIGGER so you need to add more figures to each regiment. And you need Grenada and Landwehr and more hussars and and and a WURST!

These look very smart. It's a nice touch to preserve as much of the original uniforms/brush work as possible and what a great flag. The pink facings lift the appearance of the unit and you're right, it is a good regimental name.

Rob, I still lack any Russian heavy cavalry figures but I will be returning to Prussians soon.

A wurst would be good Jeffers! But you’re right the Austrian units should really be bigger…

Don’s work on the flag is superb so it’s good that it will grace a table once again.

A great looking unit again Ian. Well done on the strapwork....you really need some patience and a steady hand to get that right against the white uniforms.

Thanks Simon, now Jeffers has started me thinking the units should be expanded to 30 figures…therein lies madness…
