Marshal Grouchy leads the parade of the French legere. |
The 9th regiment is the only one that carries an eagle. This is because they are based for close order action rather than as skirmishers. |
The 10th regiment needs no further introduction. |
The combined voltigeurs (with yellow collars!) form line behind the marshal. |
This completes the light infantry for my French army next I need to turn my attention to completing the infantry of the Guard.

A stirring sight indeed!
Yes, should give Wellington cause for concern!
Very smart indeed !
There are certainly a lot of pretty plumes!
An excellent parade. I am sure Wellington is relieved that Grouchy is leading them after all he eats strawberries and does not turn up when needed.
I'm not sure about Wellington being concerned, but I'd be worried if I was Grouchy with all those muskets pointing at my back. They are lovely figures and just what I lusted after as a kid, albeit they were usually in black and white.
Noting Wellington's Man last game and the absence of winning criteria in M&M, do you intend putting anything in you eagerly awaited update as if the battle isn't part of a campaign mutual annihilation beckons.
Rob
They are stunning en masse.
Best Regards,

Thanks for the comments chaps!
Rob - the 'new' rules will only be some minor changes to the existing that tidy up a few things. I'm not sure if the rules lend themselves well to victory conditions as such although it would be possible to have some scenario specific ones. We've never had mutual annihilation in any of the games so far (although how old school is that!) as they've all tended to have a fairly clear winner after 7 or 8 turns.
Beautiful - very pleasing. I was impressed with how well the skirmishers operated under M&M - echoes of "Charge!" - so I have some favourable history with these boys.
Rob's reference to black and white wargames reminds me that I once heard a strange tale about some chap who proposed to actually paint his armies black and white, like the old photos. Now I come to think about it, it sounds more like one of Clive's April Fool hoaxes, but it would be a good laugh. Only for the first half-battalion, though.
Could try Austrians vs Brunswickers I guess?
Simply gorgeous, Ian.
Thanks Matt, they are quite a spash of colour when paraded together. Hopefully they will dazzle the enemy!
Lovely looking lights!
Best Iain
Colorful and beautiful...but Grouchy needs more and more, at your brushes, and quickly! Very nice job...
Cheers Phil!
