I finally managed to get to Ikea this weekend and get the
bits and pieces I needed to sort out my wargame room in our garage (funny how a
trip to Ikea can actually be enjoyable if it’s for something like this). As you
can see from the picture the place is beginning to take on a homely feel now I
have all my prints and pictures up on the walls.
One of the things I bought was an extension table that takes
the playing area to a full 8’ x 4’ and there’s actually room to extend it by a
further two foot in the future if I want to. I was toying with the idea of
getting a proper table constructed rather than the slightly wonky arrangement I
had but the extra table has added quite a lot of stability so I’ll keep things
as they are.
The terrain laid out on the table is for a 1/300th American Civil War battle I will be fighting soon. If you’re interested then keep an eye on my other blog Brother Against Brother (click here) to see how the battle develops.

It is looking very good indeed!
looking real good
Wow.
Actually, now I come to think about it, that's not a proper garage at all. Where's the bloody spiders? In my garage the spiders would have eaten the little trees in seconds. And where's the things growing out of the wall? If that's supposed to be a garage, it looks more like the reception area at the dentist's.
To tell the truth, I'm prostrate with envy - that is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Nice job, Stryker!
It looks great!

Stokes
Thanks for the comments chaps!
Tony - it is a garage, honest. The space has benefited from the fact that it was studded out and painted properly for use as Mrs S's knitting yarn storeroom. There's no way she would have agreed to such lavish spending just for my toy soldiers. Oh, and there is the occasional spider but they don't appear to be the tree-eating variety.
Wonderful Ian, and the terrain looks great, I must catch up with your ACW blog again. Our garage has never seen a car, but is full of boxes and boxes of ....well, I don't know what really! That's a very neat job.
Regards,
Lee.
