As I’ve completed the required number of Landwehr figures for our game next weekend I decided to return to and finish off the Empress’ Dragoons. The painting desk was getting a bit crowded with so many figures on the go and completing them has helped to restore some order.
As always these one-piece castings have been a challenge to paint but I’m fairly happy with the result. Next I need to base them ready for a parade with the Horse Grenadiers.
Nice job they really look to be charging flat out - a dispiriting sight for their opponents.
ReplyDeleteIt seems the Guard are all the rage at present what with WM's CaC, what elitist times we live in does no-one care for the cannon fodder?
Thanks Rob - I agree that the Guard are prominent at the moment however they are balanced out by all those cannon fodder Landwehr!
ReplyDeleteVery handsome fellows and horses!

Good point and as WM says something exceptional is going to be needed to stop those Leib Husaren.
ReplyDeleteFirst class paint job Ian and lovely animated castings.
ReplyDeleteSmashing job, sir - as always. I really like the OPC HH cavalry, but I find them very tough to paint. I have some in the pipeline quite soon, it is true, so I am inspired by your workmanship!
ReplyDeleteFoy - tee hee why do you think I let you have them!
ReplyDeleteYe Gods, that was quick! And so beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't fancy painting some for me would you?...…
:)

WM - ha ha!
ReplyDeleteNicely done.
ReplyDeleteStarting painting a new unit is easy. One is full of good intentions.
Finishing a unit however is another matter entirely.
Brilliant as usual. The Empress Dragoons are a wonderful looking regiment.
ReplyDeleteThey are, of course intended for use en masse and so the odd inexactitude is acceptable because it does not get noticed when they are all together and heading for the enemy as these soon will be!
ReplyDeleteLovely looking toys...
ReplyDeleteAll the best. Aly
