The Hanoverian Command figures are done and the whole unit is complete bar the basing which I will hopefully get around to in the next few days.
Nice to have officers with a yellow sash for a change. |
The flag is another of my freehand efforts using a British Regimental flag figure as the base. I'm quite pleased with it although the lion is perhaps looking a bit more like Garfield than I would have liked.
When I started on this unit I prepped both a Regimental and Kings Colour figure as I had assumed the flags would be similar to British line units but apparently that's not so.
The regiment will be paraded soon then it's on with the Austrians.
The look great, very nice indeed, the colours really "pop" and the flag isn't half bad either!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie!
ReplyDeleteThose officers look really stylish, it’s the unfussy nature of the uniform that does it. Looking forward to the imminent parade.
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of Austrians are lined up to go next?
Fantastic job, that flag is a really good.
ReplyDeleteThey should head the parade with that little gm flying.
Brilliant work Ian - they look splendid.
ReplyDeleteI marvel at your painting skills with that beautiful flag .
ReplyDeleteA neat addition. Painting flags when there are so many prints available won't be for everyone but I think they add something special. It's surely unique and worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteNow Austrians will bring back memories of childhood and my father painting his troops.
Stephen
Thanks for the comments chaps!
ReplyDeleteI am currently prepping a unit of Austrians and at the moment am thinking Grenzers but we’ll see.
Absolutely agree that the regiment must carry a flag! Nicely done and as I have said before, the way you make the red, green, and blue gray work together is just lovely. I love the yellow sashes too!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, Ian! I painted a unit of Hanoverians awhile ago for a Quatre Bras scenario but got stumped when it came time to give them a color. Problem solved! Splendid work as usual!
ReplyDeleteDavid, I can’t take credit for the colours as they are Foundry paints straight out of the pot, but the British blue/grey is one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteBob, I do like that flag and it makes a nice change to the British ones.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Ian. I was hoping you'd paint some Hanoverians, and you've done them handsomely!
ReplyDeleteThe absolute business Ian…
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to seeing the parade…
All the best. Aly
Thanks Matthew, I’ve just based them and they look quite bright and spiffing all ranked up.
ReplyDeleteAly, they should be on parade by the end of the week!
