The Highlanders really deserve to have the edges of their King's Colour coloured-in, so to speak, as they must already be feeling up-staged by the hand-painted flags. WM has made me a convert to painted flags but not sure I'll ever convert to the cast on variety.
Rob - if Bondarchuk/Laurentiis had done the same they would only have painted the front rank of the figures and converted the muskets to bolt-action rifles!
They look splendid all together Ian. When I looked at the pictures I thought 'did I paint a British battalion for Ian?' A quick search back through my blog revealed the 30th Foot, painted back in 2015! Thanks for the opportunity, it's great to be represented in your collection - I know I also did a French battalion so honours even :)
A lovely looking division indeed. I'm going to pretend I didn't see how well you have rendered all those cast on flags, because I will not go down that road! Really, I won't, ever, well maybe....
PS - Have been having a blast working with WM to adapt your rules to the bigger battalions. Staying quite faithful to them really and just adjusting ranges, movement distances and the like. The proverbial poop is about to hit the fan I believe, as the skirmish units are coming within range and my dice are already failing me!
Superb! I especially like your Highlanders. Been putting off painting my own version until Humbrol develops Tartan paint.
