Allied Artillery

The Duke of Wellington and Lord Hill have been out inspecting the Allied gun line.


The two new Royal Field Artillery batteries are made up of:

2 x BN.140 Officer pointing, holding map
1 x BN.141 Gunner with porte-fire
1 x BN.142 Gunner ramming home
1 x BN.143 Gunner holding cannonball
2 x BN.144 Gunner holding hand spike for traversing
1 x BN.145 Gunner – ammunition carrier, running


This is now a substantial weight of artillery to deter any attack by the French.

    WM - they won't be quite so powerful when diluted along a proper battle line. I'm pleased with them though as I thought I would never get enough figures!

    Thank you for showing off the Allied gun line - it looks really scary but not having played M&M I not sure if it’s quite the meat grinder it appears to be... Really nice paint jobs but (excuse my OCD) are you going to retouch the RHA bases as they do stand out as different from the rest?

    Thanks Rob, the difference in the shade of green on the bases shows the progressive fall off in quality with Humbrol paints over the last few years. They have all been painted with Matt 80 but the older paint gave a much nicer finish and colour. It would be quite an epic job to repaint all the old bases!

    They look good massed together.

    On the subject of Humbrol I rememver there was also a grass green in the Humbrol Authentic range and that was a very nice shade of green.

    Mark - it's very annoying how both the shade of green and the finish has changed over the last few years. The thing that get me most is that a paint advertised as matt should not be drying as blotchy satin!
