2nd East Prussian Cuirassiers

In a project already crammed with nostalgia (for me) here is possibly the most nostalgic unit of them all – the 2nd East Prussian Cuirassiers. All these figures bar one are vintage Hinton Hunt castings of PN.77 Prussian Cuirassier (mounted) charging and the odd one is a Clayton casting of superior quality. They’ve taken me the best part of six months to complete and involved painting somewhere in the region of 380 buttons. I hope you like them.

Pure nostalgia - the same unit painted by me 45 years ago and now long gone
But here they are again restored to their rightful place!

Well, at least I’ve contributed something towards Vintage Leipzig.

    Super unit Ian, I love you k at it and think we must do Liebertwolkwitz!
    Somewhere out there are your original Prussians , perhaps in a loft or cupboard, perhaps on a shelf in some old boys wargames room. Will they ever appear? Fancy putting up an orbat for Leipzig?

    found two Austrian Cuirassiers which makes me up to a second unit of 12 to boost the kaiserlichs. They must be DK as they are rather thinner than my HH ones. However, they will hide in the middle of the unit and make up numbers, so off they go to be painted. Also discovered some Art Miniaturen Austrian High command, big fellows compared to an HH, but they will sit on their own and do look rather imposing. How many Polish units have you got ? I will have two on your basing, maybe three, we need to get to an independent command for your gorgeous Poniatowski.

    Superb work! Suggest you describe the horses as 'dark bay' rather than 'brown', you'll get more 'brownie points' (pun intended) from the horsey community.
