The guns are A.5 Austrian Field Gun. They have an odd thing to the left of the barrel that looks like an oversized ear trumpet - I have no idea what it is but if Marcus Hinton sculpted it I'm sure it should be there!
From left to right:
AN.51 Gunner, with porte-fire
AN.55 Gunner, ammunition runner
AN.50 Officer, pointing holding map
AN.53 Gunner, with cannonball
I’m hoping to expand this force with the addition of two extra infantry units this year. Well, this is the aim however I’m already getting diverted by some Prussian Cuirassiers but please blame Roy for this.
All this shininess is distinctly worrying:
ReplyDelete'Shiny, shiny, shiny boots of leather
Whiplash girlchild in the dark
Comes in bells, your servant, don't forsake him
Strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart
Downy sins of streetlight fancies
Chase the costumes she shall wear
Ermine furs adorn the imperious
Severin, Severin awaits you there '.

You have gone from matt to satin to shiny shiny..........ah the pernicious influence of that Wellington Man.
Looks good though. I might just try a unit with that ultimate in gloss, Vernidas.
Hold your horses there Roy that's still Humbrol SATIN varnish although intentionally applied to dry on the shiny side! Just wait until I get my hands on the gloss...
ReplyDeleteThose gunners look like they mean business. Any games planned for them?
ReplyDeleteHi Conrad - glad you like them. I do have half a plan to use them in action but nothing concrete yet!
ReplyDeleteMwahahahahah!

If Roy wants to see Austrian batteries in matt.......oh curses, one day I'll master that photography thing. In the meantime, the odd bolt-on ear trumpet thing is the sighting mechanism. As you say, Marcus thought it worth a try. I'm not entirely convinced by the result, but nice one for painting on the side of the angels.
ReplyDeleteWhat a splendid battery you have created. I do like the gloss look to them. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Neil.
Neil - glad you like them!
