Minifigs then came along with strips in true 15mm scale (as were Laing) they were als designed to be quick to prioduce and paint for mass. Then I think Mikes Models arrived. They were fat and caricature but covered periods that Minifigs did not.
Minifigs then moved on to the figs that Ian displays here. Laing dropped out. Mikes Models produced more detailed but still trubby figures and then sold to Essex. Around then the number of 15mm manufs exploded and the figures grew inexorably to 18mm.
#
Roylewisgunnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01935143236897047636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6875985959507775409.post-73630298969561388282009-11-14T09:42:50.241+00:002009-11-14T09:42:50.241+00:00Hi Ron

I think they were the first 15mm figures but were produced a bit ahead of there time and are small compared to modern 15mm. I don't know if there is any interest in them now but I would think that Clive over at Vintage Wargaming might have more info.

IanStrykerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14258922461691204362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6875985959507775409.post-77605692468946383522009-11-13T21:55:31.957+00:002009-11-13T21:55:31.957+00:00Nice Figs and painting!

That scale has now become so detailed that its really slowed down the time from lead arriving to paqinted figures taking the table!!
Roylewisgunnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01935143236897047636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6875985959507775409.post-34179028089719374432009-11-01T14:55:37.475+00:002009-11-01T14:55:37.475+00:00Thanks for that Stokes - and many congrats on your...Thanks for that Stokes - and many congrats on your recent arrival!

IanStrykerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14258922461691204362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6875985959507775409.post-68918348790760192152009-11-01T14:23:58.437+00:002009-11-01T14:23:58.437+00:00Ah, yes. I've never understood why some people criticize them. I really like your Prince of Orange and Staff figures by the way.

Best Regards,

StokesWSTKS-FM Worldwidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14173042438761572040noreply@blogger.com
